I never seen a year with these many major hurricanes in it.
Well in 1999 there were also a good many major hurricanes
Hurricane Bret 140 MPH
Hurricane Cindy 140 MPH
Hurricane Floyd 155 MPH
Hurricane Gert 150 MPH
Hurricane Lenny 150 MPH
5 Strong Cat 4 Hurricanes, however they didn't occur so close together as Alex-Karl have.
1996 also saw six major hurricanes, but only 2 hit Cat 4 strength
Hurricane Bertha 115 MPH
Hurricane Edouard 145 MPH
Hurricane Fran 120 MPH
Hurricane Hortense 140 MPH
Hurricane Isidore 115 MPH
Hurricane Lili 115 MPH

Then in 2001 is when i started to really really really like to track hurricanes and all the other weather stuff.

The first year I got into hurricanes was in 1994 when my family had to cut vacation short due to TS Alberto, and I've been watching and tracking ever since.
