If Ivan does come back around to the Gulf, how strong do you think the system could rejuvinate? Seriously, could Ivan even return to Hurricane status????

Well i was looking at the 12Z GFS and it does have like a feature tracking across the northern gulf, but at best if he does become something tropical again at best he might just make it up to tropical depression status.

I've looked at many visiblie sat. loops and still can't find any kind of circulation left over from Ivan. All I see is an area of low clouds off the NC coast heading south...

Thats what john on wwltv said at noon that the remains might form a surface low of the florida coast and track west across the northern gulf. We will just have to wait and see.

It would be nice if those remnants could slide far enough west to give south Louisiana some...if you people to our north and east can believe this...much need rainfall. We have been in a mini-drought of sorts since the first week of August.

Precip I'll gladly accept. Development on the other hand...

BTW, if you check out this WV loop you can see an area of greater moisture content sliding south/southwestward over the northeast Florida penisula...perhaps this is the area of Ivan leftovers they are referring to?

I wouldn't mind a couple of inches of rain, here, from some remnants, either. We really need rain here in New Orleans.

The weather channel said that it would be a weak feature and that it should take aim on Texas. There is also a cold front that is expected come down towards the mid to latter part of the week.

It is unusually hot here in Dallas for the end of September...
and no rain here either... maybe we are being set up for
something... but the only bears around here are in the zoo ;)
