Karl With A Snarl
I've been watching Karl all day on the sat loops - don't see any hint of NW or even WNW in his track all day. What I do see is due west with a slight WSW jog in the last few frames. Karl hasn't gained any latitude in what - 8 hours or so? I don't think that this due west track was exactly forecasted, was it? Also, all of the models have been pretty much underestimating the Atlantic High this year. Are we all still sure that Karl is going to definitely get picked up by this trough? Starting to look a bit suspect at the moment.

The through seems to be weakening, it seems..Is Karl strong enough NOT to be influenced??..unlikely, but until there's a definite move north...

latest guidance package for TD13/Lisa seems to have her missing whatever trough is supposed to pick up Karl, whcih is a major deviation from their earlier thinking. Karl will likely still be a fish, but Lisa may slip under the trough. But like others have said with the way this season is going I won't call Karl a fish until he dies somewhere up in the North Atlantic

No hurricane is "strong" enough to ignore the effects of a trough and/or plow through it.
