I would think maybe they mean that it will bear watching.

found this but I am not sure it is what they are taling about :?:

Bear's Cage - [Slang], a region of storm-scale rotation, in a thunderstorm, which is wrapped in heavy precipitation. This area often coincides with a radar hook echo and/or mesocyclone, especially one associated with an HP storm

It does seem like they are referring to "bears watching" (I did catch this earlier)... saying a "BEAR WATCH WILL LIKELY BE POSTED" doesn't make any sense.

Remember, what you're reading is meant for forecasters and discusses what will be in the public forecast. "Bear Watch" refers to language like, "this system bears watching by all in the Gulf/East coast/Wisconsin/whatever"

Maybe some inland NWS offices do encounter Bears (the ursine kind), but I doubt they put it in the weather forecast.

...BEAR WATCH IN EFFECT FOR SOUTHEAST TEXAS UNTIL 100 PM...

THE STORM PREDICTION CENTER HAS ISSUED A BEAR WATCH FOR SOUTHEAST
TEXAS UNTIL 100 PM THIS AFTERNOON. MOTHER BEARS AND ASSOCIATED CUBS
CONTINUE TO DEVELOP SOUTH OF A STREAM WITH FISH THAT EXTENDS JUST SOUTH OF
A LINE FROM CHILDRESS TO HONDO. THE ATMOSPHERE IS DESTABILIZING SOUTH
OF THIS LINE...MEANING THE BEARS ARE GETTING HUNGRY...AND CAUSING THE
BEARS TO INCREASE IN INTENSITY.

THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES ARE INCLUDED IN THE WATCH...
HOUSTON...TRINITY...POLK...MADISON...WALKER...BRAZOS...SAN
JACINTO...GRIMES...BURLESON...MONTGOMERY...LIBERTY...
WASHINGTON...WALLER...HARRIS...AUSTIN...COLORADO...FORT
BEND...WHARTON...JACKSON...CHAMBERS...BRAZORIA...GALVESTON AND
MATAGORDA.

REMEMBER...A BEAR WATCH MEANS CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
BEARS TO ENCROACH IN AND CLOSE TO THE WATCH AREA.
PERSONS IN THESE AREAS SHOULD BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THREATENING
BEARS AND LISTEN FOR LATER STATEMENTS AND POSSIBLE
WARNINGS.

STAY TUNED TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR ANIMAL PLANET FOR
FURTHER UPDATES AND POSSIBLE WARNINGS.

OTHER WATCH INFORMATION... CONTINUE...WW 605...

DISCUSSION...SCATTERED BEARS...INCLUDING SUPER-GRIZZLIES...
EXPECTED TO STRENGTHEN THROUGH THE AFTERNOON...WITH OTHER
BEARS POSSIBLY FORMING SOMEWHAT LATER SWD. STEEP MID LEVEL
HUNGER RATES/AMPLE SALMON INFLOW AND MODERATE DIRECTIONAL
MAULING APPEAR SUPPORTIVE OF VERY LARGE BEARS.

AVIATION...A FEW BEARS WITH MAXIMUM TOPS TO 8 FEET.
MEAN STORM MOTION VECTOR...TOWARDS THOSE RUNNING AWAY SLOWEST.

Not sure what kind of watch it is... but the time is 10:10. Most watch manufacturers set their watches to that time when they're advertised, as it makes the hands look like they're "smiling" (I kid you not!)
