Cape Verde's Season is Over
For all practical purposes the Atlantic season is over. I doubt Lisa will make it all the way across but you never know. Time to start looking at the Gulf and the Bay of Campeche or possibly some hybrid type storms. I know some don't want it to end but personally after this year I'm looking forward to Christmas!

Of course that's a good thing. I just think it's overly optimistic to think we're done just yet.

In 1995 after this date we had Marilyn, Noel, Opal, Pablo, Roxanne, Sebastian, and Tanya.
In 1996 after this date we had Isidore, Josephine, Kyle, Lili, and Marco.
In 1998 after this date we had Georges, Ivan, Jeanne, Karl, Lisa, Mitch, and Nicole... if that were today, it would be Karl, Lisa, Matthew, Nicole, Otto, Paula, and Richard.

Kevin, I say ignore Downdraft. Anyone who posts an in-your-face absolute statement like "Cape Verde Season is over" when there are things still spinning off Africa as we speak -- especially this crazy year -- is just looking for a fight. Admits to trying to "stir up" a hornet's nest. When he didn't get enough reaction, he poked at you about a completely reasonable quote, IMO.

I agree, there may even be more development behind Hurricane Karl, Tropical Storm Lisa and the tropical wave east of that.
As for quoting someone's post. It is sometimes only necessary to quote the portion you are responding to. What use is the other part(s)
if you aren't responding to the other things mentioned?

So an opinion is only valid if it agrees with your own? Perhaps I should have clarified my statement by saying the threat to the U.S. decreases or may even be over from Cape Verde's storms not necessarily that the season for cyclone formation is over. I do take exception to quoteing half a sentence so that the context fits your own arguement. If you dont like open debate why have an open forum?
