After looking at the 00Z model data, I think the threat to the Carolinas is increasing. The only model that does not agree with the NHC scenerio is the GFS, wich is East (imagine that).

Finally, I'm feeling confident that neither Jeanne, Karl or Lisa will affect Florida. We could use the break. First Bonnie, then Charlie, then Frances, then Ivan and now we're getting copious amounts of rain in South Fl from this system that may or may not be related to Ivan. I think we've had more than our share of weather during the last six weeks or so. Enough!

Mascpa,
It may be a gut feeling but it's based on sound information.

Just because Charley, Frances and Ivan came toward CONUS does
not mean that every storm will.
These storms now appear in a pattern that is taking them over their predictable path out into the Mid Atlantic.

I think we can all breathe a sigh of releif.
Hopefully the trend will continue.

Anything in the gulf bears watching however.
As do storms that form in the lower latttitudes.

I've had an Outer Banks (or above) gut feeling about Jeanne all along. When I was playing with doing the ensemble forecast, my plots kept sending her to the Outer Banks even though I was plotting her turning exactly the opposite way the models showed. Weird.
