Excellent site, mf dolphin and others! Looking forward to your spectacular upgrade, I'm certain it will go very well as we prepare for more tropical weather in October and into November! :)

mf_dolphin wrote:We will be moving to a new server this week. We have scheduled it for tomorrow starting at 9PM eastern time. As it looks now we will not be changing the IP address so you should not have to change any of your links. The site will be down for a few hours while the move takes place.

The new server specs are as follows:

Dual 2.4 GHz Pentium 4 processors
2 - 73 GB SCSI hard drives
2GB RAM

This should alleviate the issues we've been having with the server during the peak times. Keep your fingers crossed :-)

that should be plenty of horsepower to handle all the requests on the server.

Marshall, like someone else said earlier, let us know if you need more $$. Y'all do a great service to the weather community.

Good Luck with the move, and thanks for all your hard work on keeping this great site up and running.

I missed the dual processor part. That is even better news. :) Great to hear. This move will certainly help keep S2K up and running during even the busiest of times. I can't wait to see how fast the new server will be. :D
