He had my respect during Charley...but I respect him more so than ever. It's tough being away from family...my thoughts go to him and his family during their times of need.

Totally amazing stuff. It made me sad to read that article and think about everything he has to go through, now that I realize it. Hats off to Jim Cantore. He is a great man who deserves to be honored for his hard work.

I find it interesting that so many people even teens hound him for autos and hugs. I didnt know that many people watch TWC.

You know hands down Jim Cantore has always, always been my favorite TWC OCM. What I had admired most was the way he delivered forecasts - either in the studio or out in the field. He told it like it was, didn't stir up panic but seemed very sincere when he advised residents to evacuate. A class act all the way.

And now, I admire him more than ever after reading that article! I had tears in my eyes while reading it. I had absolutely no idea his wife has Parkinson's and his two children have disabilities.

What a great human being Jim Cantore is. That article alone should garner him even more fans now. I think if I were to meet him someday I'd want to shake his hand and say - Jim, what a wonderful role model you are for future meteorologists, dad's, husband's, parents, out there....

Brent, thanks for posting the article. Sure made my day.

We do love you Jim Cantore!

I definitely give my respect to Cantore. He is certainly one strong-willed man. I knew about his wife's parkinson's, but I didn't know that his son has Fragile X.

Thanks for posting the article.

Does anyone know anything about the "boxes" at Yankee Stadium? I think they have sort of "private" box areas and corporations, etc. rent them by the season...

Perhaps someone would lend Cantore one so his kid could get to a game without all the crowds that "freak him out."

This should be do-able. Does anyone know about them?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention; our attention. Jim is a first class guy whose passion for weather has been appreciated for years.

I took the time to remind him today that folks from Storm2k felt even more admiration after the story.

He acknowledged that it was time for both his family, and him, to get the word out.

We can appreciate him more as a father and husband, too, for making that decision.

Jim Cantore deserves our utmost respect, not only as a meteorologist, but as a man

He certainly deserves all the respect. His admiration for weather has been seen for year up to this day and his admiration for his family definitely proves what kind of man he is. I heard awhile back maybe a year or two ago about his wife Tamra having Parkinsons. But I didn't know about his two kids. The bottom line is that I pray for Cantore and his family and crew. He's the best in the business and you can see that even as a person, he's the man. Hopefully things settle down in the storm department so he can get to spend time up at the cabin in the mountains of North Georgia. After all Cantore's been through with hurricanes, he deserves time with family.

All my best to Jimbo and his family!!

Jim

Geeze what a heart tugging story. My friend meet him once when he was in Pascagoula for a storm and has kept in touch with him and has said many times what a great guy he is. There is no doubt in my mind that this is true.

God bless him and his family and prayers for their healing!

What an amazing story!!! And what an amazing father and husband! I have watched Jim for years. Just when you think you have problems, you hear a story like this. I think I'll go hug my husband and 4 kids and thank God that they are all healthy. My prayers are with him and his family.
