I Am Outraged

#21 Postby Arizwx » Sun Apr 06, 2003 2:59 am

Thank You Dennis For bringing her to 'Light'!As you know,I study Native American Cultures, and work with the Pasqua Yaqui and Tohono O'Odham at Mission San Xavier del Bac.Hence the reference to the 'Light'.She is in Good Hands now!Rest assured!May the Spirits Carry Her Swiftly Home.
The reason I put 'outraged' on the header of this,is simple. While much well deserved attention has been given the other 'young lady' as some portray her..I knew full well, before the news broke that our AZ Hero had fallen prey to the Iraqi Henchman Squad.BTW,Kahuna..the Fadayeen is estimated to be more in the range of 12-14 thousand. Many are in Basrah and in the North near Mosul,or left with Saddam if he did infact flee, which is very plausible.
My point to XXL and ConstrcWx was this:Remember them both. That was my meaning...and now..I watch the news..the Media.Tuba City's Hero has not the proper accalades...but she has MINE!
Perhaps a Tribute to her on a Website would be appropriate, albiet knowing the Indian Nation's Culture,we need to show respect of the utmost kind.
Perhaps,E-mails would be most appropriate.Tuba City's Reservation is,as is Rural West Va..very poor. The Indian Nations also have the lowest proportion of College Graduates nationally. They are short on Teachers from Elementary to High School as well.Perhaps the Fed Gov can do as they did in Pfc Lynch's case..and PONY UP some well deserved dollars for her Family! She was a Mom too!
I hear the Lone Wolf 'Lobo' crying to the Desert Moon as we speak. She is nearly home now.I'll light a Candle..in the Wind to guide her on her final journey.

I have done nothing to disrespect the brave young lady hero from Arizona. I posted a glowing tribute to Lori both on this forum and at Wright Weather earlier today...and I spoke from my heart; there were tears on my face when I posted it at both forums. I truly grieve for her loss, and for her children.

As for my webpage in honor of Pfc Lynch, I've recieved 15 emails on Saturday regarding it. All said it was touching, several said tears streamed down their face as they visited. One email was from a retired USN MCPO with 30 years served...he lives in Pensacola; another was from a former teacher of Jessica's, she said it was beautiful, and she would make sure the Lynch family saw it. One email was from a West Virginia newspaper editor wanting to link to my site...so his online readers could see what a patriotic Georgian thought of their "brave little girl". One tonight was from the wife of a West Virginia congressman, who stated both she and her husband cried because it was such a wonderful tribute--that she sent the link to Governer Wise.

I picked a young hero I can relate too...a story that touched my heart and soul, as well as my family's. Anyone is welcome to do the very same thing for Lori, for Shoshona, for Master Sgt Dowdy. It's a free country.

My personal prediction is that within six weeks, there will be numerous personal homepages and websites dedicated to Jessica, to Lori, and to all those brave heroes that were brutalized in southern Iraq...because they all had family members, friends, neighbors, and comrades (among others) that will feel the compassion and duty to honor the brave hero that touched their life.

I offer best wishes to each and everyone that accepts the challenge to honor an American hero...including others that choose to honor Pfc Jessica Lynch. I didn't create my site for personal glory or awards. I did it solely to let America, West Virginia, Wirt County, and Jessica's family and friends know I care.

God Bless,
Perry

This Thread is not about you..or me.
It's not intended that way.It is a respectful thread.I merely explained my distaste for the media..not you.You did nothing to disrespect anyone.I made that clear on another thread.
Thank you for the respectful words.I thank you for remembering my Wingman, which someone else did not...nor has.
I thank you for your service to this country.Remember the other evening, you posted on how you felt "Guilty?"I responded in kind by saying that you could indeed contribute as our President laid out in many Post 09-11 speeches? You have done so haven't you?You have and are fulfilling your duty. However,I believe:'relating to one another' is a matter,IMHO,of 'One American to Another'.

I posted this both here and at Wright-Weather. I meant every word, and there were tears streaming down my face when I posted it at both:

JetMaxx wrote:Marshall, I just saw the names on a news site. It is so sad....they include brave US marines, a master Sgt from Ohio, a Sgt from Portland, Oregon...several young marine heroes from Texas :(

Among those now confirmed dead is a beautiful young mother from the state Arizona. Her name is Lori, and she's a native American...a Hopi indian. As agonizing as Jessica Lynch's story has been, Lori's is far sadder.

Jessica will eventually recover from her wounds..she's young, strong, and a fighter; she'll experience the joy of Christmas, the excitement of Independence Day, and IMO achieve her dream of someday teaching.
She'll also likely someday marry and have beautiful children of her own :)

Lori is gone. Her children will never see their mother alive again, never experience the comfort of a mothers loving hug. I know that pain, that feeling of loss on a personal level. It's an ache that never goes away...not when you lose a mother at age 16, 12, or 3. My mom's been gone over 25 years now, and I still break down sometimes because I miss her so badly...so does my sis. The worst part of losing a mother at a young age is all the things she'll miss, and all the things her children will experience without her.

I grieve because mom missed Christmas, my high school graduation...my sis grieves because mom wasn't there for her college graduation or her wedding day. We both tear up when thinking about Becky's three kids...they are such sweethearts. Mom loved children....she would have been the perfect grandmother. I have tears in my eyes as I type this just thinking about how much love Maddie, Nick, and Jacob have missed, and will miss from a sweet, loving grandmother named Fay they will never know

I weep today not because of Jessica. I instead grieve and weep in agony over a the scarifice and loss of a brave young mother from Arizona...a beautiful young hero named Lori

May God bless all our brave heroes lost in the name of freedom.

Perry

btw - I learned tonight that Jessica and Lori were roommates and best friends at Fort Bliss. There is a wonderful photograph of them standing side by side, both smiling at Fort Bliss in February...I saw it on the CNN website this evening.

As a Proud Resident of the Republica de Baja Arizona, the 48th State in this Union,I thank you,as we have lost one of our own.
I saw your Tribute. It was beautifully written. You have a God given talent to be sure!
I consider you a Cyber Little Brother. One I never had Perry.I am sincere in that.I considered my Wingman,'Kevin' as the same.He is MIA since 1975.His wife, now remarried still wears his bracelet that were quite popular during the Nam conflict on Veterans' Day.I am a Native of California,as was Kevin. His young bride was pregnant at the time of the shoot down by NVM SAMs on our his final Mission over Hanoi.I was in charge,he was MY responsibilty.I was but 22 yrs.I took 2 SAM Hits and was unable to assist..I made it..he did not. This is why I mentioned 'Survivor Guilt' that Pfc Lynch may experience.
He, just turning 22.This is why I took such great exception to your buddie's glib remarks.I agonized.I could not sleep.Tears ran down my face until I could not weep any longer.Yes..the great AZ..Wept.
You could not have known.I do not fault you.I do fault your friend.
That said..I am a Christian,a forgiving man.I shall do the right thing and let it go.
You have done a fine job,and I sir,Salute you as well.
Take Very Good Care.
DJ
BTW..His wife had Twins. She named one after my Initials...the Girls! She named one Dawn Jessica!DJ...the other Candace Renee..my Grandmothers' name,as Kevin had no family to speak of.I send presents when I can to them on B-Days and Holidays. It is all I can do...except to work with John McCain to find him and bring him home! You see Perry..America needs heroes..Families need Closure. They deserve that much!

Dennis - I had CNN on yesterday morning and just as I finished my earlier post they had the story about Lori. Her brother had given a brief statement about Lori and offered their prayers to the rest of our soldiers out there. I didn't see the snow though, but I am a bit superstitious myself and believe in spirits and ghosts. I think it was Lori's way of saying hello...

Stephanie, I saw that report on CNN too, the one I was refering to was not shown on CNN, it was on one of their affiliates, KTVK Channel 3 Phoenix, my main source for local news. They might show it on CNN today, very moving indeed, just as the Tribal Chairman spoke those words, "In the Hopi way, a lost love one will visit their earthly home in the form of moisture" the snow started to fall very gently, as if she said, "I'm home now, everything is OK!" Sent a shiver down ol snowmans back for sure!

Talked to Victor this afternoon, as soon as the family gets her body back home, they are going to have "one heck of a wake!" Most Native American cultures have an old fashion *Irish Wake* before burial and let me tell you, they WOULD wake the dead! They had church services at St. Peters Catholic Church in Tuba City today, from the video they showed on KTVK, there was well over 500+ ppl there, they had to set speakers up outside the church for those who couldn't make it inside, a VERY moving service to say the least!
