I really, REALLY feel bad for the FLoridians this year, but I have to admit that this was funny...

At least it's not a Cat 5 storm!
Even people at work are saying the same thing. But then again we are on the west coast of Florida. After Frances came through... This weekend they cut all the trees back from the power-lines (and it sure looks ugly, I mean they just did the big V in the trees). So maybe we will keep the power in a weak storm. But the east coast just does NOT need this.

Great cartoon! More like people felt about Frances (after Charley) here I think.

With Jeanne, resignation is the mood of the day over here on the FL East Coast. Eerie, silence replaced a week of jubilation as coworkers watched the 11 am and 5 pm move Jeanne closer west. Came home and family, friends and neighbors are acting the same.

We're not ignoring it, but nobody wants to talk about it as we go about the familiar prep drill and get ready. Even with the current track, 172,000 of us in this county will probably have to evacuate anyway because of the margin of error.

The "leaving" and the "staying" are already starting to show up in the new "For Sale" signs on homes this past week. Beach bargains of a decade may be available for investors!

Riding it out this time .... SeaBrz

Cute cartoon. Looks like just about everyone I know. Most people are declaring that they will stay put for this one. I am inclined to stay also. The stress and expense of an evacuation are beyond me at this point.

In South Florida we are not in panic mode. We are just having a "wait and see" approach which I think would be the appropriate thing to do.

SouthFL -- MOVE! If it's any consolation, I work with someone in Orlando whose daughter is named Frances Jeanne. We're trying to get her to move, too.

I'm not feeling too well since they put Tampa in the Cone of Terror. They sure are pushing Jeanne more to the West. I guess we will see what the 5 am discussion says.

I'm feeling sick all over again. I think we've had enough! I guess I'm destined to really eat that darn can of Spam in 2004. It will be ugly!
