The ramifications of a FL hit by Jeanne...

#1 Postby PurdueWx80 » Wed Sep 22, 2004 11:07 pm

go far beyond a devastating blow to FL. For the further west Jeanne goes, the higher the chances of another major flooding event for the Carolina/VA mountains. It appears to be relatively certain that Jeanne will curve to the N at some point as the storm makes her way around the SW and W side of the ridge. That upper low over CO seems to really be pumping this eastern ridge tonight, and as the trough flattens out and splits (w/ a majority going NE but a piece hanging out in the plains/midwest) the ridge should remain intact, albeit in a weakened state. Anyway, if Jeanne does come in near FL, the low should track far enough west to cause unimaginable flooding in the southern and central Appalachians once again. These poor folks are going to think Armaggedon has come.

Yeah, I was gonna add a line like that...but I guess when you keep adding more to something that you never thought possible...well, there really aren't words for it.
