Saddam faces

#1 Postby chadtm80 » Sat Apr 05, 2003 10:27 pm

Faces of Saddam
On March 20, 2003, U.S. forces bombed Saddam Hussein's underground bunker in Baghdad. Since then, images said to be Saddam have appeared on Iraqi television several times. But some have questioned whether the leader is still alive or whether the videos are old, or doubles are posing as Saddam. Here are images from those TV appearances.

March 20th :uarrow:
Saddam addresses Iraqis in a speech that aired just hours after what U.S. officials called a "decapitation strike" that preceded the war intended to take out the Iraqi leadership. The strike by Tomahawk cruise missiles targeted a location where intelligence sources said Saddam was meeting with advisers.

Mar 24th:uarrow:
Saddam appears on state-run television to tell the nation that the United States and its allies are "trapped" as Iraq resists "heroically."

Image
March 27th:uarrow:
A close-up of Saddam is from footage of a meeting with his Cabinet that aired on the Arab-language Al-Jazeera TV network.

March 31st:uarrow:
Iraqi TV airs footage of a meeting with Saddam and his sons.
The Iraqi leader is shown in an image taken from a video shown on Iraqi TV.

April 4th:uarrow:
Saddam appears in a prerecorded appearance on Iraqi television in which he urged his followers to fight the U.S.-led invasion "with what you have available."

An image taken from a video shows Saddam walking through the streets of Baghdad.

Saddam is shown in an image from an undated video during a meeting with his military leaders. Also attending were his sons, Uday and Qusay.

No, he's not dead. The CIA analyzed the photos & videos and today's as he was walking the streets with smoke billowing in the background WAS him they've confirmed. He has two birthmarks or moles on the left side of his face that some of the other doubles don't. The doubles are only used for quick, farther-away venues according to the agency. He's still kicking.

They all look like the same person in my opinion. Most americans think arabs all look the same so they really have no real expertise in telling these people apart. I think they are all saddam...just filmed at different times...some of which were most definitly before the war in my humble opinion!

Hay JQ, how you doing tonight? Well the gov has facial recognition software that can triangulate faces - it's well known and publicized. They've used it as sporting events, airports, etc. etc. and it works. One just needs to get used to looking at other people from other countries - they do not all look alike (sorry). I have friends from India and they all look totally different. :D

haha i know...actually i am indian (not kidding like from the subcontinent of india). From what i hear from my friends they think we all look the same or can't tell us apart at first glance. I think after studying once face closely most can tell the difference, but i really think all those men are the same person. Those glasses just made saddam look so different. Most likely filmed way before the actual strikes. I was just saying the avg american usually thinks they all look the same. I really don't. BTW i was born and raised in Raleigh, but both of my parents are indian ;)

Yep, the glasses threw everyone off for awhile. I'll let the experts decide which one is the real Captain Insaneo  Cool - from what part of India? :P One of my favorite meals is Tandoori Chicken and Indian bread with tea. Have you ever made it from scratch in the clay oven??

Mmmmm you Arizonans must love the spicy food. I always wanted them to team up with the indians and put a whole bunch of habanero peppers in the food hehe jk! Tandoori chicken is great stuff. Actually my mother is vegetarian so she never let us cook meat in the house. But at most restaurants they have those cool clay ovens...on a funny note i first heard about them on food tv lol! But the bread is called either Naan or Roti...naan looks more like pita bread i guess. They tea is called Chai, and i must say is my favorite type of coffee/tea beverage. hehe

Spicey is Nicey (oh brother ;-)

You bet, we do like spicey food. I actually tried to make Tandoori at home several years ago, but did not barbecue it and the spices were there after marinating it all night, but I missed the grilled flavor. Should have cooked it outside. My friends also are about half vegetarian themselves; some are Hindu and do not eat meat which is fine. You saw the clay ovens on the Food Network, lol? Hope you got one. So I guess I can't ask you for your favorite T.C. recipe since you don't do chicken. I got mine off the Food network website when I saw the Indian chef woman make it - now I'm starving...! Love the bread; yep- it's like fluffly pita with butter....Now stop that JQ...the restaurants are closed here :D

Aw...hehe maybe we can mail ya some, but since you're from the city and us asians seem to be taking over i bet you have several indian stores in your area. Either you can buy the prepared naans or you can just put pita bread in the toaster over and then butter it and put cilantro i believe. Lol i'm a guy but i think i have that recipe right lol! But if you like hispanic food you will love much of indian food esp the veggie stuff. Not the same flavors exactly but some of the same spices like cilantro. Oh well we made this topic way off-topic lol! But i will ttyl. I am going to sleep now. Can you believe it is an hr ahead tday so i missed some sleep :( Gnite and hope you don't dream about indian food hehe ;)

OK have a good night. Sure if you have the recipe, send it over - that would be great. We do have Indian stores so I'll have to check it out for sure. The cucumber salad is good too; made that also. I don't think Chad will get too mad - we'll have to continue this conversation later in some other post - - - Take care :Fade-color

Saddam is not dead..nor his sons...including the one I 'affectionately' call
E-Bay.
The Glasses are due to the fact that he is Adult onset Hyper Glycemic..borderline Diabetic, and coupled with stress,it exacerbates poor eyesight. He is quite vain and does not wear them in Public. The thinking is that he was under siege and was not planning on the improptu appearance.Moreover...CIA,etc have studied his lower jaw displacia and teeth.
It's him.
To comment breifly on the culinary aspects:I love Curry!Especially the Chicken.Habanero Chiles in Indian Food?No way.Habaneros are not spicy..they are PAINFUL..but I love em!
We in Tucson have many Indian and Pakistani eateries.Quite popular, and nearly impossible to get a table..except for the great AZ!Funny how a slipped 10 bucks can get the booth Pronto!

Arizwx.... where did you find that information about the CIA studying his jaws and teeth? Or anyone confirming it is him? Everytime I hear something from the Pentagon, they say it is a body double.

The things we learn about people!!

JQ......I know you well from previous forums......never knew you were of Indian descent! (check out the "previous"; our friend Shia is moving again.....this time back to India!)

My daughter (a vegan) introduced me (a vegetarian) to your wonderful food several years ago in Ann Arbor, Mi. Many wonderful places there to get your spicy and arromatic.....and just plain good-for-you dishes! My favorite is called "The Earthen Jar"; just was there Tuesday.

Aha! It's HOT PEPPERS you love, Arizwx?? They are my absolutely favorite plant to grow! (I have 5 books on growing/recipes for peppers!) The Habenero is a beautiful plant, but I have to admit the heat is more than I can take. Just started several varieties on the mist bench at school.......I grow them in huge pots on the deck now......used to have a HUGE veggie garden at another house!

Oops......about Saddam.......I believe he's still alive also.....and I believe he will wait until the last possible moment and pull anything he possibly can to try to destroy our troops....... p:(

Whether dead or alive...a more interesting question might be, are Saddam and his sons still in Iraq? Or was an elaborate escape route part of his plans over the last 12 years?

Unlike our search for Usama....I suspect there will be those who will willingly or unwillingly help us uncover the true whereabouts.

I agree that coalition forces no longer consider him relevant...but to the people inside Iraq, they need to have evidence of his demise before truly rejoicing.

I believe that, once we have taken at least a rudimentary control, the population themselves will be happy to deliver every one of the Ba'athists, SSI, fedayeen, Special Revolutionary Guardsmen, police, etc. in hiding to us for detention against future trials, if not "cleaning house" themselves for the atrocities they have committed.

That's another facet Steve that has to be seriously considered: if he bugged out to another country, say Syria or Egypt - we'll be hard pressed to rout him out. He'll keep turning up like a bad movie and we'll be in the 'theatre' surrounded by...what...the unknown in the dark. It would have been far, far better if Special Forces had wacked him in the opening hours. Since Syria and Egypt have been sending their own special forces into Iraq to help Saddam, they probably smuggled him out. Remember all of the 'citizens' fleeing Baghdad awhile back, running North? (Remember Osama bin Laden allegedly being smuggled out of Afganistan into Pakistan...)? What's similar about these two pictures. Yes Bill, we hope the regular folks there will provide some good tips; only time will tell when we see The Bug himself on a stick.

SAddam Dead in '99

#19 Postby Steve H. » Sun Apr 06, 2003 2:49 pm

There is also a story out there that suggests that he died in 1999 of lymphnode cancer, and that his double has been pulling double duty since :o I find this hard to believe (it was on Rushs' show) because his hideous little offspring would have taken over for him. Did they flee the country :?: . Now that is quite possible. But I maintain the guy is dead. There is a lot I don't trust about the CIA; besides he probably uses liz Taylors' plastic surgeon

Had to grab the Kleenex on that one SteveH :ggreen: as you covered the gamet. His "hideous little offspring" as you say - Uday and Qusay - now that's a spot on remark  Uday is the sadistic sort with exploits known far & wide; those kids are the spawn of Captain Insaneo's first wife I believe. The agencies are sure keep well briefed on their scurryings and scratchings. So you really believe he is dead...well that may be but with all the disinformation out there, only those at CENTCOM/Pentagon will know for sure. If it compromises the war effort, I don't want to know. Personally I think if they didn't get him on the first day when they had the high G2, they don't have him now. Just hope he hasn't bugged out yet - or maybe he now looks like a cross between himself and Jacko - - - - :o
