Ivan moving NW @ 15mph?

The NHC 10am advisory has Ivam moving
NW at 15pmh, hmmmm. I don't know about
that 15mph it looks more like 5mph.

Ivan is moving toward the northwest near 15 mph...24 km/hr... and
this general motion is expected to continue today and tonight. On
the forecast track...the center will cross the coast in the warning
area later this afternoon or evening.

This is likely the long term motion, which has definitely been NW. They acknowledge a NW to WNW motion until landfall, and it is pretty clear the short term motion as been W to WNW according to the Lake Charles WSR-88D. If the slowing and more west turn continues...it would be reflected in the 1/2 p.m. advisory.

agreed thats the slowest 15mph I have ever seen....Looks like shes parrelling the coast and not the NW movement as stated....very odd....

I think the windspeed is higher than NHC as well...

thank you for clearing that up Purdue. I was wondering if I needed to get my eyes checked.... :lol:
