Crazy 11 AM NHC Jeanne track just crazy

It makes landfall just north of Palm Beach and then parallels the entire FL coastline with the eyewall right on shore up to Jaxsonville.

Wow, that's kind of harsh, don't you think?

It's apparent that they are turning this thing north faster than the previous forecast. Is this a trend based on their thought that a High pressure ridge will be strengthening over Florida? Being in central Florida, I can only hope so because if this trend continues, I see them moving it slightly farther away from the Florida coast (no FL landfall) in the next one or two forecasts.

Maybe you guys who keep saying "The Trend Is Your Friend" are right after all! (I hope!)

I'm sure they plot their forecasted path without thinking of the geography. This looks really bad at this point.

Town of Jupiter - meetings and preparations to begin later this afternoon.

The trend is farther south and west. The turn to the north is more severe than previously, but it is also farther west than before. I sincerely hope you are correct and the track shifts back to the east. I just don't see it yet.

Actually, this map shows landfall right around the Ft Pierce area - already pretty badly damaged by Frances with a large population of migrant workers. Know Palm Beach County will likely be impacted, just depends on how far it tracks west before turning.

That's what I meant. Although, yes, it does show it coming more DUE west than the previous model which had landfall around the Cape, it shows a more severe north turn than previous. The direction prior to the severe north turn is just a little farther south, but it DOES show an earlier turn north, which I hope is a trend that will continue. If that north turn occurs just slightly earlier, which was the trend in this last model, Jeanne may stay far enough out to miss a direct hit on the coast.

I'll keep my toes crossed.
