Could Jeanne visit the GOM?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Could Jeanne visit the GOM?

#1 Postby Houstonia » Thu Sep 23, 2004 12:06 pm

Sorry guys - haven't been keeping up on Jeanne - just noticed that the models bring her awfully close to the eastern GOM.

How certain is the NHC of her movement north?

Any chance of a visit to the eastern GOM?

thanks!

~H~ (who is really trying to get to Dauphin Island while its still above water)

So glad you asked this question. I was wondering too. The BAM model is just crazy though. I think it will get very close to the GOM and then head north. From what my novice eyes interpret.

Since she's tracked so far south, I'm beginning to wonder about a GOM visit, too. Not beyond the realm of possibility, IMHO.

Seems to me to be well within possibility that it would enter the Eastern GOM before heading back north.
