Unofficially Ivan has stalled or at least it
looks like he has.

Looks like you're about to get that rain as a pretty good rotating band of showers is moving toward LCH as of 2:40 p.m.Jagno wrote:I'm in Lake Charles and this radar is showing alot more rain than the 3 minute very light shower we've received so far. Like most of our neighbors in Texas, we neeeeeed the rain.

Weatherbug
My Weatherbug radar is just now begining to show some light showers coming in from the northeast... looks like either Liberty county or the county just north of it.
Very light rain indications though - nothing serious... definitely moving southwest.

Ok....Maybe one of the pros can help out here.....Ivan has moved .2 West and .2 North since 11..Does that equal NW at 8mph? And the last few images looks as if it is feeling the coast *friction?* and is moving due west...Not starting one of these new motions post but just what it seems to look like..

Yes, the last 3-5 radar frames off our local NWS site show the cyclonic movement of the rain bands appearing to be breaking down into just plain ol' coastal drifters moving northward off the Gulf. This might be indicative of the weakening of the sheared and struggling little Ivanovitch.Stratosphere747 wrote:Ok....Maybe one of the pros can help out here.....Ivan has moved .2 West and .2 North since 11..Does that equal NW at 8mph? New Orleans radar is too far away. Check out Lake Charles...

A nice spin is there clearly still offshore.

We're getting a light, steady, soaking rain in Orange, Texas which is just what we need.
I've noticed a lot of the smaller storms have a habit of staying just offshore for 12 to 24 hours before finally moving inland. I've asked whether this has been studied, but I haven't seen a response yet.
