Florida schools friday

#1 Postby gpickett00 » Thu Sep 23, 2004 6:04 pm

I live in east central florida, 20 miles south of cape canaveral. Do you all think that we will have school tomorrow. Also, do you think that there will be any hurricane watches or warnings friday?
thanks in advance,
George, 16 years old

I'm down here in Palm Beach, we have school, Martin County doesnt, it is all a matter of prepping the shelters. It is looking like a half day.

Tomorrow will be fine weather-wise. Watches will be issued sometime tomorrow with warnings coming by Saturday Morning.

You should attend to your duties as required unless otherwise notified. 8-)

Unlikely. Schools only close if it's hazardous to travel... the weather will be beautiful tomorrow.

Yea, I think they might scrap school, but I'm not sure how they would get the word out. I do know that Martin County just scrapped schools as did St. Lucie, it only seems likey that other counties will too. You are in Brevard County?

yes, im in brevard county. they would put it all over the news and in the news paper. i hate evacuating, but i am going to go to the mainland. because when charley was approaching, it intensified rapidly and i dont want to be stuck on the barrier island with a category four hurricane.

St Lucie County schools are (shocker) still closed. They've been closed since 9/2 and I've heard thru spouses of school employees that regardless of whether Jeanne was coming or not school would be closed next week as well due to the roofs and the mold :x

These poor kids aren't going to have any summer break whatsoever
