Nothing heading to Houston yet..

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Nothing heading to Houston yet..

It just aint happening...yet. Nothing seems to be able to make it west of beaumont. Local mets had 70 -80 % chance of rain today. Not a drop yet. What are the odds we dont get anything?

See- I'm this great tropical deflector shield. Allison's the only one that manage to escape my mighty powers of deflection. Ivan may very well be going *around* Houston to get back to the Gulf.

I'm gettin' no love here... no love.

(And for the record I don't want anything nasty- but some rainstorms in the evening would be nice. I love the sound of rain on the roof)

We'll get it...it just won't be today. I briefed our customers that the rain wouldn't start till tomorrow. We won't get anything until we get on the east side of the circulation...and that won't happen until tomorrow night.

But...we actually got a T-Storm where I live in Angleton about 2 hours ago.

We need the rain...and we are going to get it...just going to not come (most of it) until Saturday.

Nothing to be concerned about in the central GOM. Winds will be kicking out of the SW the next several days.

My son came running in and said "the storm's here...it's raining!" He's 4...and likes weather. Nice light show still off to the SW.

Yes..I was out playing soccer and started thinking Ivan already made his WSW turn...LOL..The way the NHC has what is left of Ivan...Is looking like we could be one the "wet" side of him....Lets hope he does not stall and gives us a few days of heavy rain...740am keeps saying that to the south and east of Houston could be looking at 10in of rain...Not sure if Ivan going in further to the east is going to be good or bad for us...

How sure are you about this AF Met? Dr. Neil said there was a good chance the system would move north and out of our area.

Southern - what side of Beaumont do you live on??? It looks like the eastern areas (closer to the state border) are getting HAMMERED with heavy rain.

A little to the west of all that. No hammering here, just breezy with intermittent light rain.

Port Neches - 3.88"/hr. rate
ouchie!

Does anyone think we are still going to get this? Has the scenario changed Af Met?
TWC has dropped chance of rain to 30% for tonight. IT does bring it up to 50% tomorrow, but it could be due to the front that was supposed to come through. How did everyone but Dr. Neil blow it with the rain predictions from this system?

Couldn't help but think about you last night when I saw that track cone they showed on the news and how it curved up and around the Hou/Galv area. It was just too weird to see the cone going inland, curving, and back towards the gulf like it did, leaving a big, untouched space around us.
