I've watched David's reports since the start of the war. I don't care for MSNBC in general but I really liked his style. So Sad! :-(

David Bloom...

David was a favorite among journalists for me...and the loss feels personal.

He was doing something he loved...something he believed in...at the time of his death and each of us wish that our own passing will someday come at such a place in our lives.

Still...his family will surely miss him deeply.

Unlike those traveling with the likes of Geraldo, I suspect those with whom he was "embedded" on the trail will consider him a fallen comrade...perhaps the highest honor for a newsteam member among the troops.

Oh, that's so sad to hear! I'd been following him on MSNBC, as well.
Prayers go out to his family.

So very true, David Bloom was a great newsman, started his career with NBC News in 1993 and passed away covering Operation Iraqi Freedom with a Pulmonary Embolism.

A huge loss to not only his family, but also the news business. My thoughts and prayers are with his friends, family, and colleagues.

I was in total shock when I first heard the news, and I thought it was war related, but it wasn't. Who would have thought a blood clot in his lungs would have killed this fierce and brave journalist. It saddens me to hear that he will no longer be covering the war as he did, and I just cannot fathom the thought of NBC News without him. He was one of my favorite reporters, and he was always tehre during the best and the worst news stories. God bless him and his family. May David Rest in Peace.
