A hunch
I was looking at Jeanne's track over the last six hours or so and this idea popped into my head. Nobody saw that slight NW jog coming. What I think happened is Jeanne found a minor weakness or the ridge just curved up. WNW, NW is where she wanted to go so she actually sped up a bit. Now, it appears she has hit a wall. I just get this vision in my mind of a ball bouncing off a wall. Jeanne "bounces" WSW for a short period of time and then resumes her track west at an accelerating pace. This would push everything south and west of where the projected track is shown now. Don't know why this idea popped into my head or whether it makes sense or not. But I felt comfortable sharing it with y'all on this board. Thanks !!!
