dryest hurricane?
could this be the dryest hurricane you have ever seen. I'm tryin for any positive out of this one and if we do not have to deal with much rain than all the better. whats the rainfall expectation for the current forecasted impact areas?

As many as 8 inches of rain was expected as of late Thursday afternoon according to one of the local Orlando affiliates.
What dry air is being induced into the system now may be less than when it is closer to the coast, making landfall and/or moving through Florida and beyond.

I think this is a good way to look at it. The dry air is a temporary thing. If the current level of dry-air stayed in the system all the way to florida, I dont believe that it would be able to sustain itself. You can see by the satellite images what a toll that began to take this evening. Also, there is alot of moisture starting to come in from the southern carribean, so shes going to have at least one resource to tap into. If she overcomes the dry air, she will quickly become "wet" again so to speak.

I can recall that in Andrew we only recieved a couple inches, if that. He came through beat the living piss out of everyone... and got the hell out.
That is why these storms that seem to be crawling in comparison are killing me. lol
Here in miami lakes where i live they have been doing a lot of work on draining intiatives, and thus far it seems to be paying off. The other night my weather station logged about 3.2 inches in about an hour and a half from som sea breeze storms... and the streets stayed relatively dry for a change. lol
Well let me rephrase that, they weren't flooded a foot to two deep. lol
