Its True. I'm sorry to say, but the military is one of the only options for children growing up in West Virginia. Not to say that's bad, but in a state like that were poverty reigns over mostly everyone's heads, the military may be the best option for an education beyond High School.

Jessica wanted to be the best that she could be and she chose the Army to lift the possible financial burden and for a chance to better herself in the ways of life.

She needs to have time to heal from her experiences of being a POW in Iraq.

Yes, I worked in the media for a year, but I quickly found out how much of a "shark attack" it is to gain the best story for viewers! It meant getting 'down and dirty' to get the most important information for the viewers.

My only thoughts in favor of a movie...are the financial benefits....why I say allow her years to recover and not months; AND let Jessica make that decision.

I want to see her happy and healthy in 5 years, 10 years and beyond; to me that takes precedence over anything else. I also say any accolade, gift, or honor Jessica recieves she deserves.

I told a West Virginia state senator just this afternoon that I was ashamed that all I could afford to offer Jessica was a webpage in her honor. I have a friend and his wife here in Douglasville that sent her a dozen roses. My sis and her husband are planning to send Jessica flowers for her birthday...I may do the same; and am definitely sending her a birthday card (and every year from now on).

If I had the money, she'd get a brand new sports car...her college paid for in full, and a shopping spree at the mall of her choice. If I ever win the lottery jackpot, she'll get it :)

From what I just read on MSNBC.com, her father has no use for the movie-and-book deals; they are "trying to make money off my daughter", and he does NOT welcome being approached by them.

People who don't want to take anything, but just to express good wishes are welcome to do so.

He said it, I believe it, and that settles it.
