SUBJECT: HURRICANE JEANNE ADVISORY #8

WIDEST POSSIBLE DISSEMINATION OF THIS INFORMATION IS REQUESTED
DISCUSSION: AT 5:00 AM EDT THE CENTER OF HURRICANE JEANNE WAS LOCATED ABOUT 340 MILES EAST OF GREAT ABACO ISLAND IN THE BAHAMAS. MAXIMUM WINDS ARE NEAR 100 MPH. JEANNE IS EXPECTED TO MOVE TO THE WEST AT ABOUT 8MPH. A SLOW INCREASE IN STRENGTH IS POSSIBLE. HURRICANE FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 45 MILES AND TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS EXTEND OUTWARD UP TO 140 MILES FROM THE CENTER.

STATE EOC STATUS: Level 1 (FULL ACTIVATION)
COUNTY EOC STATUS: Level 2 (partial at 1200)

LOCAL ACTIONS: finalize all preparatory plans
THE FOLLOWING SCHEDULES ARE PROVIDED AS DATA FOR PLANNING PURPOSES:

sATURDAY 25 SEPTEMBER 2004
0700 FULL ACTIVATION OF THE CEOC (all esfs, cities, and full cic)
situation calls for an evacuation to be ordered on saturday morning and commensurate shelter openings at that time (0700). This is for north and south penninsulas, mobile and manufactured homes, rv parks and low-lying and flood prone areas as well as people with special needs and applicable healthcare facilities within the evacuated areas.
