I actually heard that chick in Fox News talk about it going back into the gulf and one of my teachers said the same thing this morning. You've got to be kidding me.

I think ya'll in La (and East Texas) are the only ones to see any rain from him. Our local mets also project it to curve around and re-enter the Gulf next week. All except Dr. Neil. He put only a 50% chance of this happening. I'm more inclined to believe him and will not believe it until it starts moving S and SE. The others mets seem only to be worrying about ratings and how to get you to tune back in and closely monitor Ivan. They never even mention this possible scenario.

At this point if it goes back in the gulf, I'd think of it as a weak low pressure.

This last Ivan was really hyped up. He didn't bring but maybe an inch or two total. I did see some of Lake Charles get a bit more rain.

Nowhere near the 5 inches across South Louisiana that we expected.

I agree. When people who don't keep up w/this hear "Ivan", they are thinking of him as a cat 4 or 5. Let's call him a rainmaker and keep the hype down.

While I dont disagree about the media hyping this thing to death .... its really easy to say this stuff when you are not the NHC.... imagine if Ivan had pulled an Alicia, and NHC would have held off on naming it....people would have been furious that they didnt receive more warning. Better safe than sorry, I guess

I got woke up by heavy rain in Tyler county at 3:50.the dogs wanted in.got a lil wind enough to blow 3 castor bean plants flat, that are now tied back up& zinnias& salvias in one bed were flat down.7Am emptied 6.32 out of rain gage& by 7:40 was just a drizzle.
neighbor had pine at lake uproot and was leaning on dockhouse.hubby chopped up.says chainsaw don't cut wet wood worth a sh!t.
We needed the rain.I'd have been happy for 4 more inches.Glad Ivan died.not enough wind.that dam ugly limb in hickory tree is still there.though in a different spot now.he flipped Ivan off as he passed through. :D
oh and about 5 was some steady thunder and lighting& satalight signalactually stayed on for a change...a miricle.I must have over paid the bill.lol

Quick, Njoynit--get all of your fans from the house and take them outside. Aim them due south and turn them to high. Maybe we will get some rain after all.

At least someone in Texas got some rain.
