Here comes Ivan back southward toward GOM.

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

I think we are supposed to invert the rain chances. Local met says 80% chance= 20% chance of rain. I'm watering as well. This area should be added to the list of deserts in the US. This is my little Mojave here on the Gulf Coast. Plus, I figure if I rain, wash the car, and do a rain dance, it might happen.

I think the visible loop really shows what is happening. What is moving northeast and north is the mid-level vortex. That has been advertised by the local NWS and the NHC...that the low level circulation and the mid-level circulation would decouple.

If you will look at a visible satellite picture you will see what stormcenter is talking about. On radar and IR...yes...the mid-level center and the precip are moving north and northeast. However, if you go to the GHCC site and do a 15 frame hi res loop...you will see what is happening with the LLC. It's basically splitting in two. Plus...if you look at Lufkins obs...you see that they were north and NNW...now they have started to veer a little towards the NNE. If the system was moving north and ne...they should be backing around to the west more.

Hey, Galvestongirl. No rain yet.

Have you been to Jeannie Sealy before? Don't let the black slate walls freak you out. :)

I think Ivan feels bad about leaving his Blob behind---it looks like he's going back for the little guy.
