Can we pretty safely assume that Jeanne will turn northward before the Gulf of Mexico? Or is it possible this could turn into another GOM event? I seriously hope it doesn't come far because we have people as far east as Okaloosa County in need of new roofs.

Andy, I think that's right. I roughly calculated the distance and found the track had a built-in acceleration to get to the 8 a.m. Sun position -- an average of 10 mph even though it was going only 5 k at the time. It might have exceeded 10 mph average already though.

I hate when they speed up doing a beeline for me even though it was forecasted along with a turn.. I remember Michelle..ohhh so close..

Dang winfield has expanded as well..150 miles.
