This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Just how many tornadoes do you think Jeanne will produce..? Frances produced a bunch, especially days after her initial landfall here in Central and SE Florida..

not very many since most if not all the areas effected by this cane will be on the west, weak, side of the storm.

That has nothing to do with tornadoes.

If the storm decides to come further inland though.. then that would increase the twister threat I'm assuming

In a way it does... typically most of the tornados occur on the NE quadrant.... if that stays over water, then fewer people will be affected by tornados

Tornadoes are always in teh NE - E quadrant. So the further inland the hurricane come, the more threat for tornadoes. I just went through 15 or so tornadoes with Ivan in the DC area. Ivan was to our West to Northwest. We got caugh in one of the "trains" on teh East side of the storm.

The East quad is where basicly all of the tornadoes form. The west side can produce spinups but they are usually isolated. Some of the worst tornadoes this year have been a result of the SE quad.
