Old vortex at 3:33 p.m. EDT was at 26 DEG 25 MIN N, 73 DEG 21 MIN west. That's a wobble south of due west by 3 minutes. Also, the storm moved 22 miles in 96 minutes, meaning a forward speed of about 14 mph.

I guess the closed wall part is surrounding all that "crud" within it. If/when the eye contracts, it should scour out what's floating around in the eye. Haha, Jeanne has floaters in her eye, just like I do.

C50...that just goes to show another reason why recon. is still essential

That vortex is bad news for the Palm Beach county area. Not only are we dealing with intensification, but a south of west motion and increased forward speed.

Hmmm... I thought I had noticed that slight movement to the south in the latest satellite imagery.

Not good news at all for C/S Florida.
I hope this storm makes that hard right
some of models (GDFL & GFS)) have been forecasting.
But even that may not be enough to spare Florida
from the serious effects of Jeanne. What happened
to the SW shear that was supposed to weaken Jeanne
somewhat before landfall?

every little jog south at this point is going to make it that much tougher for Jeanne to a)miss Fl b)make landfall north of central Fl (i'm thinking somewhere bwtn broward/palm beach county line up to Stuart)
