A question about flight delays-Tampa->>
I have relatives flying back to NC from Tampa on Sunday around 4pm. Do you think this storm is going to cause flight delays? I know its probably too early to know for sure but I would like to get a heads up.

That is what I was figuring, around 40knots would keep them grounded. The latest prediction track looks like it would be around 80mph winds on the east coast, not sure how that would affect Tampa. I do know at a minimum the flights will have to be re-routed as they fly out over the water right were the storm is expected to go.

From the NOAA 3 day forecast it looks to be right at the Orlando area on Sunday afternoon/early evening.

I think Saturday night would be better.

Stuck in Tampa...
Seeing as how I used to live in Raleigh, I would say that being stuck in Tampa in even the worst of conditions is better than being there on the best of days!
With that said... if you really want them home so badly, tell them to get on that plane one way or another on Saturday, anytime. Tampa will probably not close the airport as early as 3pm Saturday. It would be more like 9pm-12am before they would close (unless the storm speeds up more than the 14 mph its going now).
