Pensacola and the body count

#1 Postby Downdraft » Fri Sep 24, 2004 7:16 pm

I just returned from Pensacola where I was deployed on a public safety mission. I can tell you without any doubt or hesitation the body count is what the body is and no one is hiding it or covering it. The simple truth is it is unknown exactly how many stayed on the barrier islands despite the mandatory evacuation and no one is going to know they are missing until someone reports them. Having seen the area first hand if they stayed they died. Houses that were not blown away or washed away were buried in sand. There is no cover-up of the body count period.

I agree, no bodies are being hidden by officials. It's a rumor.

Last I heard it was in the 50's in the U.S. with somewhere just over 100 once you add the Caribbean deaths in...
