Cape I think that Lee County is under a TS Watch and Collier is under a Hurricane Warning.

Cape:

I'm not sure exactly when. I found the link on another thread about an hour ago and "bingo" there we were. I navigated around the county and each click came up with the location and the warning. Weird, huh?

I can't believe I actually had the audacity to write an email to Robert VanWinkle telling him both about our site and giving him the link for NWS. I'll probably be labeled a "kook" or a stalker!!!! Remember when Syoen was being stalked-can't for the life of me figure that one out! In my opinion he is very overrated and is not a meteorologist. He majored in English.

Is this trough supposed to come down this far south and east? I saw my local weather at 5pm and I don't see any cooler temps in the upcoming days. Highs around 88 degrees all week.

Syoen is an actor, put no faith in his insight. To be voted best meteorologist in SW Fla, makes me ashamed to live here. Shows the intelligence of the population locally. If you want someone credible, listen to Jim Rief or Jim Farrell. Syoen is a buffoon, in fact after his complacency concerning Charley, I think top level management jumped his rear end, because with the latest threats, Frances, Ivan and Jeanne, it seems like he has toned down his assertiveness. He is a clown and nothing more.

You are both probably correct, especially since there has been no mention of shelters opening and it really makes no sense. Unfortunately, it has not been changed although the site states it has been updated last at 7:39.

That being said, it's wouldn't surprise me in the least if most of FL West Coast is under a hurricane warning by mid-day tomorrow. Of course, this will depend on storm intensity and how the track verifies. This is not a prediction of any kind-just a feeling.

Anyone who calls Jim Syoen a clown doesn't know what he is talking about. Three days before Michelle hooked right and into Cuba Jim Syoen was the ONLY meteorologist I saw ANYWHERE who made this prediction.

He also said Charley would hook into SW Florida on the trough.

He has the POWER!

No... A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect from Anclote Key southward on the Florida West Coast. The Hurricane Warning is confined to the East Coast from St. Augustine to Florida City.

To bump this up:

I just checked the NWS site again and the warning has disappeared for Collier County. There is a warning for the Coastal waters and someone probably got carried away with the graphics. Considering how busy they all must be, it's an understandable mistake and I doubt if many people saw it. Sorry if anyone's heart had to be jump started as a result of this post.

Lynn, that's ok...It got me out the door and to the store to buy supplies(just incase) at least, and I found a really good deal on a compact TV/CD player/ radio with a cigarette lighter adapter, so I'm better for it!

BTW...I wasn't home to hear the 11 pm update on the local news, anyone hear it???
