Was kinda wondering why Mike R. was even mentioning this scenario in his segment. 'Ya reckon WLOX is looking for viewership by stating (hype??) that Jeanne may get into the Gulf?????

No doubt IXOLIB!!! even the big networks are hyping! fox news "greta van ???whatever A LAWYER no less had a hr. special on this storm!!! HYPE! AND LOWES AND HOME DEPOTS GOTTA LOVE IT! its amazing how they('LOX) were "ANTI IVAN" early saying it would not affect us at all! (LUCKY for them and us the whole west side of the storm fell apart near L/F) Now when the NHC and other are 100% pushing the turn PRE-GULF they come up with this? what gives Mike in his early days was known to be a rebel and call things as he saw them from time to time but in recent years he 's become a mouth piece for "OFFICIL" forecast! Idunno I 99% of the time never watch 'LOX but it just happened to be on!

There's a pro meteorologist here in Atlanta that just said the current TPC/NHC track is 150 miles too far east.
He utilizes the NOGAPS and FSU Superensemble, and is forecasting landfall between West Palm Bch and Fort Lauderdale, then WNW into the Gulf of Mexico near Sarasota, then recurving northward over the eastern GOM west of Tampa and inland again over Apalachee Bay...directly over Tallahassee and then across Georgia from Thomasville to Macon to Augusta.

Here's a link to a topic with the ETA discussion and track. Certainly not what most of the forecasters are predicting:

I would throw out the NOGAPS now IMO, only that modle and maybe a few others have that.... all the other globals and trop models show a E Fl hot, than a recurve either in middle FL or along the E FL coast... no chance this reaches the Gulf IMO.

PErhaps you should read some of the other posts and catch up on all the incoming model runs first. It doesn't have to go into the Gulf to hammer Tampa.
