Correct. The temp is 82 degrees... We will just have to wait and see.

I read somewhere a long time ago that dry air in the mid levels can enhance the tornadic threat in tropical rainbands. Should be interesting to see if that's the case with Jeanne.

There a pretty good inversion if you look at 750mb level on the skew T above. That is a subsidence inversion indicative of sinking air (very characteristic of CA summer soundings). I don't think Jeanne will strengthen beyond a minimal Cat 3. It'll probably go through pulses where it looks good and then looks bad for awhile. Hopefully it makes landfall when it's in one of its downward pulses.
