Kevin_Cho wrote:Yes i know. BTW, just got word. Lee, Charllote and Monroe Counties have ALL called in the EOC Members, err, in better terms, have activated an emergency EOC meeting, if there is such a thing. District Commisioner Donna Fiala of East Naples has told my dad that there is now a joint Commissioner Teleconference meeting for Lee/Collier/Charllote counties as we speak. I'll get news as fast as I can from my dad as he continues to phone in.

Wow! That can't be good!
Thanks again Kevin!

Kevin_Cho wrote:My dad just called in and said that when the counties have a joint teleconference meeting, that usually means evacuations. But in this case he doesn't know why there would be many evacuations other than mobile home residents, because with a hurricane coming from that side of the coast we wont get storm surge, and if we do, very little. So he isn't quite sure what's happening now. I'll keep you all posted.

Kewl...bless your dad! It has to be hard to be called out in the middle of the night like that! Let him know that we appreciate what he's doing!

Kevin_Cho wrote:Okay, Cape, I just got word from my dad. They are seriously considering a MANDANTORY EVACUATION for all mobile home residents in Lee/Collier counties starting tommorow at 9AM, they haven't finalized plans as of yet. Collier/Lee County commisiioners will be announcing soon.
Also for my friend in Monroe County, they are also considering the same option and also a possible VOLUNTARY EVACUATION to mainland Dade County for people in the Upper Keys north of Marathon.
I'll keep everyone posted,

That's already mandatory..That's Zone A - around 7AM or 8AM it begins (if I heard the news correctly) .. maybe it was just voluntary, but I think it was mandatory.
