I have a BBQ tomorrow... lol

#1 Postby ericinmia » Sat Sep 25, 2004 3:34 am

I am required by family obligations to attend a bbq tomorrow morning. lol

The parks service technically claimed we could not have it due to the Hurricane Warning, but they are allowing it until 2pm i believe.

This is another example of the complacency. It is going to be on the Dade-Broward line. Judging by current radar, i am tracking a few cells in the first few feeder bands headed this way.

If this storm were to bomb, into at least a high cat3. I trully believe south fla is going to have a major crisis. The Track the NHC has been posting lulled all the true south floridians... west palm south... into not preparing much. I fully understand the implications of all the sides, i just believe that the line should be done away with and a simple cone instead. Even if people extrap. their own line. Everytime they look at the cone, they will also acknowledge that they are at risk, which a bold line pointing away from you does not signify.

Yum yum...
Good thing for all the other hurricanes we had to put the shutter up for originally. Haven't had to do pracitcally anything this round, and am very prepared.
I have a feeling like durring Andrew we are going to end up with over 40-60 people at our house. All the family/friends that live on the beach, and the ones whos houses are prepared, or structually sound.

Eric, it looks like you are going to get to test your new equipment. also, you may have a chance to use your saw. I would loan you mine but I'm not through with it yet. Besides I may need it before this nightmare of a season is over. :(

I have to resetup the laptop and webcam in the morning, then i'll send you the link.

Yeah i hear you about that saw. I am supposing that if it remains west or any south there of.... i will not be returning that chainsaw to sears after the storm. lol

This could get interesting.

I'm afraid this will get interesting. The ridge doesn't seem to be giving up an inch, and in fact the newest frame on WV just loaded, and the ridge still appears to be nudging Westward.
