Pretty huge wobble North

#1 Postby seminolejd » Sat Sep 25, 2004 3:56 am

Is it just a wobble or will it ultimately be a little jog?

That is still movement aroun 270-275 almost direct west. The Eye became a little broken on the north-west. The center of circulation is still headed west.

It was a wobble.. but each wobble will determine where Jeanne makes landfall.

Yep. Not as big a wobble as it appeared due to the eye being so ragged.

Go to the end of the loop, and zoom into the eye.

Then slowly change between the last two frames. You can clearly see the LLC is in the same spot just west. The cloud pattern that was the dissarayed eyewall simply spun around from being on the south to being on the east. I guarantee it was not a north wobble.

Now I've got to stay up and see at least one more image to see what's going on. Family in FLL and I thought at worst it was going to be another Frances for them.

I forget zooming can help quite a bit. Thanks.

I'm sorry but this reminded me of something funny. When Ivan stayed on a mostly west track through the Caribbean, and after it missed Jamaica to the south ( the eye). the NHC Official position was "Ivan has been on a short term west wobble", a wobble that lasted 600 miles. I still say that quote qualifies as the under statement of the year. IMO.

This time I'm serious. I see it wobbling to the North -- north of the forcast points. Anybody else see this?

LMAO @ "This time im serious" There is no wobble.. youre watching high intensity clouds wrap around the center .. the LLC is still moving 270/275 as forecasted... It is good tho that youre watching so intently.... from now on get away from sat and start watching radar..

agree, still 270. Also interesting, on the IR it looks like convection is extending and deepening on the south side as well as wraping around north side

I wobbled home last night as I walked home from the local pub but more or less my heading held due west until I got inside the front door.
