eye makes landfall on Abaco

#1 Postby Derek Ortt » Sat Sep 25, 2004 5:30 am

radar imagery now shows that the eye has made landfall at Abaco island, likely as a borderline cat 2/3 hurricane

looks like WPB will take a direct hit from this with downtown Lauderdale being in the southern eye wall

And sadly, the first landfall in the Abacos is actually in the outter cays...Green Turtle, Guana.... let's pray that it isn't as bad as it looks on the satellite and hope the people there are Ok.

This is no big deal for them. They took the best Floyd could give them a few yrs back lost some docks. Dont forget do not burn treated lumber. A friend who owned a surf camp in Hope Town died after burning the wood. Toxic fumes.

Derek, I am trying to figure something out so I am sorry in advance if this sounds stupid.
(This is my Long and Lat- 28.34N, 82.64W)
You said a turn at 82, what is the miles ( aprox) for like the percentages - i.e.- .64. I have been trying to figure that out and do not know what the conversion is.

Also what do you think we would experience at that long and lat? Trying to make informed decisions. Thank you in advance
