Do radar/laser detectors really work?

#1 Postby sunny shine » Mon Apr 07, 2003 12:03 am

A few years ago on New Years Eve, I was traveling to meet some friends in New Orleans. I was going over the speed limit, of course. I felt protected because I had my new laser detector, which also made me feel invincible. There was a Hwy patrolman hiding in the woods on the interstate, my detector went off RIGHT WHEN I GOT CLOSE TO HIM. He pulled out with his blue lights on so I went ahead and pulled over. He walked up to my window and said "It didn't work did it?" I said, "Obviously not you are here right?" He chuckled and went back to his car with my license. After he was through, he walked back up to my car, handed me my license wrapped up in the ticket and said "Happy Holidays"

Has anyone else had this problem or luck I should say?

NO - not with instant-on radar. Drive slower - believe me.
