Reporters in Baghdad Hotel SEE our tanks!

#1 Postby streetsoldier » Mon Apr 07, 2003 12:49 am

From the upper floors of the Palestine Hotel in downtown Baghdad, Sky News and a German reporter can see U.S. tanks of the 3ID across the Tigris River some 500 m away; at the same time, FoxNews' Greg Kelly is reporting FROM the Presdiential Palace where the tanks are now "based"...and is considering going into the palace to Saddam's bedroom, turning on the gold faucets and taking a shower! :o

The 3ID column is not a "recon in force", but the first occupation well inside downtown Baghdad; but "if they have to move, they will".

Let's see the Iraqi Information Ministry "spin" THIS...LOL

ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!UP YOURS SADDAM!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Hoisting the Georgia Bulldog mascot flag instead of the Stars and Stripes was a brilliant move politically.Outstanding humor. How 'Bout Dem Dawgs?
The Brits are contacting all Iraqi..ahem..'leaders' in Al Basrah to capitulate NOW!That means...either give up or the wrath of Maggie Thatcher will be brought down on them.Even the Islamic Clerics issued a Fatwah yesterday urging all resistors to cooperate with Coalition Forces.THAT in itself should tell us how much Saddam was hated.I wonder how Chirac feels this evening or his cohort in Berlin?Hmmmm.
Meantime..the Kurds have been kicking butt..75K of them..moving thru Mosul and takin' names. They are about an hour N of the 'Big B' and and are involved in a massacre of what is left of Iraqi resistance.
There is much to accomplish now within the City,as it is quite dangerous in close shot quarters.A-10s from Tucson are zeroing in on Iraqi Tank Divisions to the NE of the City..any movement, and they are Toast.
Iraqi Battalions now are located on some bridges leading INTO the City from the NE and South.Talk about bass ackwards!LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is too much fun to watch. :grrr:

LOL Perry!I wonder if they might plant a Hedge Row around that Palace?Just like at the Georgia Stadium??Could you imagine each NCAA School being represented there with mascots and all the regalia?
Let's see...the Oklahoma Kids could get the 'Sooner Schooner' to ride thru old Baghdad...or The University of Michigan Wolverine Marching Band to blast 'Stars and Stripes Forever' during the Sieges halftime show! The Iraqis love Michigan Football I hear!Followed of course by the always irreverant Stanford Band. The U Miami Ibis 'Stanley' can run amidst the market place with his Hurricane Flags...And 'Bamas Roll Tide can kick azz on the Bridges.Notre Dame has to show up..Hell they always qualify for a Playoff spot!U of Arizona Wildcats have the 'Bear Down' attitude of the A-10s as does the USC Trojan Horse.Get some Texas Longhorns in there just for fun.We end with a reenactment of the Army-Navy game in the Baghdad Soccer stadium!FREE ADMISSION and Hotdogs! The Media is already there..what the Hell! The possibilites are endless!
