Rotation in Central GOM!

With all the comotion from Jeanne, I noticed there is rotaion in the central Gulf of Mexico. I still doubt this area will develop in light of the close proximity of Jeanne . But it still needs to be watched if you ask me. Especially if convections starts firing up.

It's an upper low so either there would be hybrid development, or something would/could form on the periphery of this upper system. JB still thinks a system is likely, either something new, or something w/ the remnants of Ivan entrained into it. Ivan does look to be along the TX coast now on high res visible loops.

hmmm.... well if you look at the left side of the convection mass in the GOM it's moving south while the right side of convection is moving north. At least to my novice eyes that is an indication of rotation.

I see the rotation about 300-350 miles due south of New Orleans. Fairly large area of rotation, if that is what it is.

I checked the TWO and basin maps -- nothing there. But the discussion says:

COAST. ONLY SCATTERED SHOWERS/ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS REMAIN IN
THE NW GULF N OF 26N FROM 91W-95W WHICH IS A RESULT OF THE
SURFACE TROUGH THAT IS THE REMNANT OF IVAN. ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS ARE ALONG THE COAST OF THE BAY OF CAMPECHE.

Where is the center of the remnants of Ivan? Please don't tell me it has made it back into the Gulf already. Convection just SW of Galveston has some type spin to it.

Ivan is gone, and i dont see anything tropical in nature in the gulf...
