Bastardi 10:30AM EDT comments

First off, shut off the Bastardi bashing for this thread. No time and no bandwidth for such nonsense right now. We can deal with that after Jeanne is past the east coast.

In his 10:30AM update, Bastardi talks about his past forecast of Jeanne getting to 955mb before landfall. Here's the next statement quoted:

Code: Select all

Its going lower and disaster may be looming I think for Florida, with a 940 or lower storm possible at landfall tonight near Melbourne around 3 am, Jeane being the biggest and strongest of the 4. I pray I am wrong, given the implications.

I pay for this and I know I just violated copyrights but I think it is worthy of spreading. Certainly, one can see no impediment to the outflow and the heat content on its track.

He does go on to state that he thinks the track may have to be adjusted 40-60 miles west. Has anybody else noticed that the outflow is not pointing NW at this time?

Main story, though? A deepening Jeanne as it makes landfall.

remember, this storm survived Hispaniola and busted my early forecast, so I dont doubt she has some major spunk. She will probably go Cat 4, but 940 mb is a bit low for this close to land and so little time remaining.

Actually, I think you are probably alright in terms of copyright. Copyright law allows brief quotation, so long as you follow it with your own commentary.
