This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Just spoke to my FL friend

#1 Postby PTPatrick » Sat Sep 25, 2004 11:44 am

She is in Wauchula, and her mom is in Daytona, and she really didnt have a clue about the storm. She just went ahead with her plans as usual this weekend. She was like, well, we are just tired of it, I knew it was coming, so I just quit watching the news! She said they didnt even buy supplies this time. I know that a lot of people have prepared, but I am afraid that a lot more people have this kind of attitude.

Unfortunately many of us understand her apathy. I feel it somewhat myself and I am usually hyper when a storm is anywhere near FL. Fortunately, we are prepared and not in the direct path. These hurricanes take so much out of you physically, mentally and emotionally that the "wait and see" attitude is the much easier road to take. Extremely dangerous and not at all prudent, I know.

That said, I'm off to do a last minute run to the grocery store. I'll report back on what the Collier county residents are doing and feeling.
