A HURRICANE WARNING north of ST. Augustine to Altamaha Sound., GA

Frances went in a bit further south...than Jeanne is forecast.....and was well south of the projected Jeanne path......Frances gave Jax and SE GA sustained winds of 45-60 with gusts to CANE force.....and let it be reminded that jean was crawling at less than 5mph.......Jeane is moving on at about 15mph.......plus the fact Jeanne is likely going to come in a bit stronger.........I see no reason why hurricane conditions want be felt on the first coast.....I honestly believe a WARNING is NECESSARY on the 5pm advisory....thoughs anyone?

Shh.......

Jacksonville hasnt been affected at all this year. It is nothing more than a South/Central Florida storm.

Frances went south and west of us and we did not have over 1 million people lose power with Frances here. We did not have phone disruptions. We did not have anything but a nice sunny day on Labor Day weekend.

Jeanne wont impact anywhere but south/central florida since we all know Hurricanes are nothing but a point on a line drawn by the NHC. We wont experience high winds of 60+mph for a long extended period of time. Matter of fact, nothing north of Daytona will have any wind or rain.

Even though there is a 140 mile hurricane wind path and 410 mile TS wind path, it will magically miss Jacksonville area.

Northeast Florida doesnt get anything from any Hurricanes. We are immune..............

Tell that to the people at my Apt complex in Mandarin that had a tree fall on their cars. If it didn't effect Jax then I don't know what did.

I figured there was a bit of sarcasm in there. I didn't loose power last time although it flickered off on for awhile. Did loose phone and cable though. This time I think the power is gone for sure.

Good to hear you are a Floridian now...great year....

I worry everyone from Palm Beach to JAX will get pounded by this storm. Early this morning I saw more sudden and intense convection than I have in anything but true monster canes. I hope anyone in real danger runs now -- there's still time to escape with your life.

Dark gusty and rainy here, but we are not in warning area. Every storm has come close, but windfields stayed right about 2 degrees from the 25N 80W. I've been prepared to ride out if we aren't in the surge quad.

Just stocked up on beer and a fine sour mash beverage. Keeping everyone who's in the path in my thoughts.

Jeanne likely to go in S of Frances landfall, no? I know the forecasts are calling for a WNW move prior to landfall, but this b***h has been barreling westward for 2 days now. Remember the calls for it to miss FL altogether several days ago. I think a lot of us are going to feel this one. The forward speed is disconcerting if you expect a turn. Check Derek's forecast positions. He has a landfall around WPB and an exit over St. Pete tomorrow afternoon. He's been right on with the track for several days now. I think anyone from Jax to Ft. Lauderdale is going to be rocked by this one and a swath from Cedar Key to around Venice on this coast if the current course holds. Frances II but stronger when it gets over here I'm afraid.
