i can't take this anymore

#1 Postby wzrgirl1 » Sat Sep 25, 2004 9:26 am

I am about to have a nervous breakdown as I know many of us are. I just don't know how to handle this mentally anymore. I am usually the strong one and I am about to break! Just trying to vent. I hope everyone stays safe. We are hunkered down.

I wish I could give you a hug! All you can do is prepare and get in a safe location. We're praying for all in the path of Jeanne. :-)

its just mother nature doing her thing though. humans intruded on her favorite hurricane dumping grounds and this is the result. Its a result of populated coasts. As beautiful as they may be, IMO they just arent worth the headache and trauma.

I know you are just beat both physically and mentally. The preparation and anticipation before landfall is so very difficult. If you can just get through the next 24 hours the scary part will be over. You are in my prayers.

I understand how you feel. I'm in Marion county, and at this point they are saying Heavy rains sunday morning, and 45-65 mps winds..it doesn't sound like alot..but..wow..Frances ripped us up, and I am expecting it again this week too. I'm sure there will be trees down, and power outtages. The track keeps shifting, and putting me in the middle of it, and then getting less of it, etc. I feel for you, I hope you'll be safe.

I'm with ya. I'm emotionally and physically spent! I want life to return to normal. I have since Charley ripped holes in my roof, and Frances blew what I had to keep water out away for 16 hours. I am debating whether to put up plywood again (that I took down when Jeanne appeared to be going away last week). I just don't know if I have the physical or emotional capacity to do it. But if I don't .. Image

I know just how you feel. I just got cleaned up after Francis, here we go again only maybe stronger this time. I'm really not up for this but there is no choice. Now it's all over but the waiting and my nerves are shot.I'm going to turn off the computer shortly, before FPL does it for me. Good luck to everyone!

Hang in there. It's now right at my latitude (27.0)...with every .1 movement north before landfall, I just think that's another day I won't be without power.

Look at the positives!

I agree Innotech, it's all part of living on the coast. Prayers to all in Jeanne's path. Stay safe.

Hang tough.

I try to deal with this by keeping perspective.

Think of those people in Haiti right now. 1200 dead and 1000 more missing. Imagine having your child ripped out of your hands by rushing flood waters.

That's not going to haopen here.

And most of us have insurance in a worst case scenario.

Look at the corrugated metal sheets those poor people considered homes before Jeanne.

We don't know from problems next to those people.

To everyone in Jeanne's path--
I pray for you to have the strength to deal with this.
Just a word of caution: I've spoken with friends who rode out Ivan here. Several of them told me they were "shocked" when the local emergency officials and news media told them that the worst was coming in and to hunker down now. They knew that was what they had to do. But, for some reason, actually hearing it over the radio or TV was unsettling and caused moments of consternation. One close friend (who had insisted to me there was no way he was leaving) even said he wanted to "cut and run" when he heard that. So, please don't panic. Take care and know a lot of folks are praying for you.

I'm with you, trying to hang in there and maintain a semblence of sanity at the same time. We been lucky in comparison with those further north and in the islands, I think about that when I feel I can't bear another moment of this seemingly non-ending nightmare.

Hugs to you! I can tell you from experiences of different kinds (never been through a hurricane, but have through other life altering situations) that somehow, just when we think we're so spent we have nothing left, we still manage to find a supply inner strength we didn't know we had. My thoughts and prayers to all of you in the path of Hurricane Jeanne.

At least we are all in the same place. My husband just said, " I am about ready to just go with the 'what will be, will be' theory and not do any preparation, I am so sick of this. I am usually the calm one as well and I am very nervous yet again, as I was with Ivan the day before it made landfall.
