starting to go downhill in Jupiter ...
In the past 10 minutes, the wind and rain have really picked up (we had about an hour long lull ... plenty of time to walk the dog!). Getting a few gusts making that "whistling" sound through the shutters. Still have power, phone, cable, etc. -- and that's good because my 2-year old is calm due to the fact she's able to watch Shrek. But we'll see how much longer that lasts. Crossing fingers here ...

checking in ...
how'd you make out weatherboy??
wow -- I can't believe I have power (and cable, for that matter since I have broadband). This past 24 hours has been one of the scariest periods of my life. When you're piled into the master bathroom with your 2-year old and your wife for 6 hours (and the storm moves in such a way that instead of getting a break, you get the eyewall for 4+ hours straight), you really put things into perspective. I will write more later, but this weekend has been one eye-opening experience. Glad Jeanne is getting the #&$$ out of here ...

on and off, but not much
Were you able to sleep at all during the hurricane?
I tried my best, but only got probably about an hour and a half of sleep total. The sound of the wind whistling through the shutters and the bathroom vent, the occasional scraping of trees against the shutters, a bang here or two, etc. makes it pretty hard to sleep!
