IVAN III

#1 Postby raynpa » Sat Sep 25, 2004 4:41 pm

Ivan is no longer considered a tropical cyclone. The remnant low was centered about 35 miles east of Hunstville, Texas, at 11:00 p.m. EDT Friday, 10:00 p.m. CDT. Ivan is drifting southward at 7 mph and will continue a southward to southwestward motion through the weekend as high pressure in the lower levels of the atmosphere builds southward through the southern Plains. The storm will continue to produce thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall over parts of southeastern and eventually parts of southern Texas. Severe weather is still possible to the east of the path of Ivan. There remains the possibility that Ivan could re-emerge over the Gulf of Mexico. If this occurs, Ivan could end up regenerating again, and another chapter could have to be written in the story of the storm's long and strange trip.

You know the forecasters at the NHC have bets about Ivan, so that's why they keep renaming the storm Ivan, snstead of Matt. If one forms in the Atlantic, they will go, hmm, It could be the MAIN part of post Ivan, so let's name it Ivan.

According to the NHC and also said by Steve Lions, the formal center of Lisa just went SW and fade, and the center to the NE took over. But what we can indicate about this is that the formal center of Lisa dissipated and the center of the disturbance took over, which makes me wonder that what we are now calling "TS Lisa", is probably "TS Matthew", but what we can do.
