Some were arguing the previous fix was an error and it was further south on radar...

If "recon doesn't lie" that must mean the storm is moving N of W now, as forecast by the NHC.

I listened to a very interesting conversation that gave the reason for the discrepencies between the NHC and recon fixes. The NHC gives the exact location of the visible center; for examples, draw crosshairs on the eye, and the point where they cross is the location they report. The recon aircraft, on the other had, gives the cooridinates of the lowest pressure found in the eye. This lowest pressure in the eye is actually moving around within it, hence, the recon fix may not be the actual geographical center. In some cases, as the lowest pressure rotates around within the eye, it can be close to the south eyewall, for example, and does not indicate the true center. In order to use the recon fixes to plot the true location and course, they have to be extrpolated out through time.

Where are you from CaliDoug? Why do you insist on this north motion when no one sees it? You have been "terrorizing" alot of posts here with your interpretation of the movement of this storm. It doesn't "bear" out.

Cease and desist. This is about life and death. No one will benefit from your "forecasting".

Thanks
