Dear Jessica,
I'm proud of you; what you have done is tribute enough to your faithful service to our Country.
Get rested, come home, and always keep your eye on what is to come...a classroom full of children waiting for you, sometime in the future.
But then, you have already taught us all...about duty, courage, and perseverance in the face of adversity...and we have learned that those traits are not outdated or forgotten. Thank you, "Teacher!"

I always wondered...
Jessica...this wish for you!
When in Vietnam back in 1970, one of my jobs with HQ company of our signal battalion was to take reports of injuries or deaths and relay them in code up to our 21 Group brigade HQ. I always wondered how those sad messages made the trip...how the message might have been written..and how it would be delivered to the families of soldiers back home. All the while I knew I was the first in line to prepare that news.
Jessica...while your ordeal is personal in a way that only you can know, how I wish in 2003 I could have been the one to start that chain of good news back to your family. My elation would have been noticed even in the coded message and surely magnified by all those along the way before it made it to your home.
We are happy to have you back...you represent the best in being a soldier...not just a female soldier...but an American soldier.
As new opportunities open to you in the weeks, months, and years ahead, follow your heart and energy in a way that will honor not what you stand for, but what those who did not come home stood for. Their lives can go on living through your message...be it as subtle as holding the hand of a five-year-old, or as bold as reminding us all how important it is to remember the sacrifices that have been made.
Thank you and best wishes always....

Jessica,
Many of us (including your friends and family) were praying for your safety amidst the Iraqis. Through the horror that you encountered, an angel saved you; the Iraqi doctor that hated Saddam.
Now that you are in our hands and hearts; we can only commend your will power to get you through the horror.
It will be even more bittersweet for you to return home to your native West Virginia, but as of right now, Germany is your home. As of this moment, family and friends are more important than fighting in Iraq.
I commend you efforts against an ugly scheme of terror.

Jessica,
Your story caught my eye from the beginning because I am about your age, and I was shocked to see that you were a POW! I prayed for you daily, and when I heard you had been rescued, I just cried! You are such an amazing girl! So small, but so strong, you are and will be a role model for young women in this country for years to come! Thank you for defending our country, and may you get well soon! God Bless you!

Dear Miss Lynch:
I canot even conceive what you must have been through. You are an extremely brave person and I am so very happy that you have survived and are with your family. May God be with you as you heal not only from the physical scars, but the emotional scars as well.

PFC Lynch, you are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless You!
May soft gentle breezes brush o'er your face,
For each loving touch is God's warm embrace.
May you have enough for all that you need,
And never be hurt by another one's greed.
The Lord keep you safe from terrible things,
And at the end of this life, lift you up on His wings.
