Heh, I generally trust Dennis, but even he can be wrong, so I'll trust the conventional wisdom at this point.

I'm in the Brandon area. I was thinking that our winds would be similar to Frances if it follows the southern edge of the track. Are they saying more like hurricane force?

It's certainly possible with the current west (SW?) motion that Tampa could get significant hurricane force winds. I hope not-my son lives there so I am carefully monitoring that area. We (SW FL coast) are also going to get more than we bargained for if Jeanne doesn't move northward soon.

Oh my GOD, they need to stop asking this guy DUMB questions over and over and let him get to shelter. Anyone else notice they are trying to keep him on the air? He already said he doesn't like being out in this.

He did not stay on the air in Pensacola. He will get off the air if he thinks it is unsafe

I totally understand it's his job, but they keep asking him questions they have already asked, just to keep him on the air. I feel so bad for the guy. He SO doesn't want to be there right now. I'm sure he'd much rather be in his hotel room, with a camera pointed out the window. They actually asked him what he was most afraid of....AFTER he said it was flying debris. For the record, ABC, this makes me think less of you.

Where is the storm expected to turn? I live on Clearwater Beach and my husband is riding out the storm on our boat, which he moved to a sheltered cove marina nearby. I am at home with my two girls on the intercoastal. Now I'm starting to get really worried.

The reporter in the studio was saying, "Don your in a lull right now, aren't you? Than a piece of a sign when flying by. "

Easy to make the call on a lull sitting in the studio in Tampa.

I'm so glad Denis finally got on the air! Didn't feel confident in the forecast until he explained it, which he does so well. Of course, there are no certainties, but at least I feel more like I know what's going on as it pertains to Tampa.

Now, I'm under the impression that whoever is in charge on the scene in Vero with Don makes the call as to when they hunker-down...at least I hope so! Looks pretty dangerous out there...especially when they heard the roar...

He just disappeared to me. I'm off to get some sleep. I'm pretty sure I'll be up on and off all night and will check here for forecasts. Please, all my Floridian neighbors, be safe.

Night, all, until I wake in a few hours and post some more!!!!

Hugs to all....Bella
