#1 Postby Pebbles » Sat Sep 25, 2004 9:22 pm

If you go to this link you can compare Frances and Jeanne's landfall radars (sorry about the kiddo pics... haven't had a chance to take them down yet.)

Thanks guys...just added another jeanne that looks even more like Frances at landfall (meaning...look at where the eye is making landfall...) looks like Jeanne is Frances' evil twin sister :

CNN just superimposed images of both Frances and Jeanne at landfall, they were so similar I couldn't tell the difference...WILD!

Ok...go back and look at the major banding features and the thunderstorm activity.

Frances had very little thunderstorm activity on the south side of the hurricane. All of the activity was on the right side of the track relative to the direction of motion...hence right-handed.

A good majority of the thunderstorm and rain activity with Jeanne...looking at satellite imagery from Pebbles post...was south of the relative track...hence...left handed.

If that doesn't make sense just let me know and I will explain further :)

Weird thing is the wind has been less down here for Jeanne than for Frances-would have thought it would be stronger given she had more convection to the S than Frances. Not that it was ever that bad here in Frances, but there were some mid 40's gusts then. Seems like gusts to 30 max now.
